Services Overview

We can work together in person at Highland Fitness, your place, or online.

Strength Training

What is strength training? It is a key component of overall health, fitness, and wellness.

Strength training (weight training) exercises the muscles by contracting them against a form of resistance. Resistance can be working against your body weight or using free weights (dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, weight machines, medicine balls, and resistance bands).

Movement Training

Movement is essential for health, fitness, and wellness. We need to move every day, in every way. This capacity can be lost with aging or illness, and it is lost more quickly when we sit for long periods of time.

If you exercise for an hour a day and sit for seven hours, you are still sedentary by nature, and your overall daily movement may be considered “light” in terms of total activity level.

Nutrition Coaching

Food is fuel for our bodies, a powerful tool that we can harness to power us through our day. It is the source of nutrients that the human body needs. Understanding our relationship with food, which can be complex for many, is the first step towards taking control of our health and well-being.

Total Fitness and Wellness Coaching

You know something needs to change. It feels overwhelming. You want to lose weight or change your body shape. You see changes in your body that you aren’t happy about. Maybe you feel your arms are flabby or your face and chin seem too full. Maybe your pants feel tight. There may be stubborn weight on your belly or midsection. Maybe food or drink has been a way of comforting or treating yourself, or maybe it has become mindless or distracted and leaves you feeling bad. Maybe you just feel that your energy level isn’t what it was or that you could improve the way you feel. Perhaps there is a health condition that you live with or a family history of illness that you hope to avoid. It could be that your balance feels off or your energy is low. Maybe sleep is disrupted.

Do you find yourself saying:

"I just figured I'm not getting results, I need to do more.

I need to walk or run more, or I need to work out more.

I need to pay attention to what I'm eating more.

I need to consume less wine

I need to not to stress out more.

I need to sleep more.
